Grants Finance and Compliance Manager (80-100%)

Ensuring quality program implementation, including financial grants management and compliance, is key to our ambition of driving impact for girls.
Your role
Within a growing team of 20 passionate people, you will work within the programs department to ensure strong financial oversight and compliance with donor requirements of our grants portfolio, and improve our financial grants management processes and systems.
More specifically, you will:
- Support the implementation of a Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response regional project in Somalia, Kenya, and Ethiopia, serving as financial liaison to in-country teams and the Project Lead
- Provide financial controlling and compliance support for additional Plan International Switzerland projects, ensuring consistent application of financial standards and donor requirements across the organization's project portfolio
- Update our internal financial grants management tracking tools in conjunction with the organization-wide SAP system
- Join exchanges and coordination platforms with the broader Plan International federation related to financial grants management and compliance
As our organization grows, there may be opportunities to expand this role to include direct project management of two to three grants. In this context, experience in project management would be a valuable asset.
Your profile
You are a team player that works independently, takes initiative, and enjoys working in a dynamic and international environment. You have a good knowledge of the non-profit sector, and you have at least 3 years experience in financial management, compliance, and reporting, preferably in a development organization with experience working on SDC-funded projects.
Ideally, you bring the following skills:
- A Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree an advantage) in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field
- Experience managing finance reporting and compliance for multi-country projects that include local in-country partners
- Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets and financial transactions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to adapt financial systems to diverse cultural and organizational contexts
- International work experience
- Experience or familiarity working with grassroots organizations
- Project management
A valid Swiss work permit is required, along with presence at our Zurich office for 2-3 days per week minimum. Some international travel is required.
